How to Prepare & Send Your Service Book Artwork

To ensure the best print quality and correct finishing, please follow the guidelines below when preparing your Service Book (21 × 14 cm).

1. File Size & Layout

Cover + Back Cover (Single File)

  • Final closed size: 21 × 14 cm

  • Open size (cover + spine + back cover): 42 × 14 cm

  • The artwork must be sent as ONE single file, including:

    • Back cover (left)

    • Front cover (right)

📌 Do not split the file into separate pages.

2. Bleed Area (Required)

  • Add 3 mm bleed on all sides

  • Final file size with bleed:

    • Width: 42.6 cm

    • Height: 14.6 cm

👉 Background colours or images must extend fully into the bleed area to avoid white borders after trimming.

3. Safe Area (Very Important)

  • Keep all text, logos and important elements at least 5 mm inside from the final trim line.

  • Do not place text or logos close to the edges or fold line.

This prevents important content from being cut or folded incorrectly.

4. Spine / Fold Area

  • The book is folded in the centre.

  • Avoid placing:

    • Text

    • Logos

    • Important details
      on the centre fold area.

Background images are allowed to pass through the fold.

5. Colour & File Settings

  • Colour mode: CMYK

  • Resolution: Minimum 300 DPI

  • Accepted formats:

    • PDF (preferred)

    • JPG or PNG (high resolution only)

⚠️ RGB files may cause colour variations when printed.

6. Fonts & Images

  • Convert all fonts to outlines / curves

  • Embed all images

  • Avoid thin fonts or very small text (recommended minimum: 6 pt)

7. File Naming

Name your file clearly, for example:
ServiceBook_Cover_42x14cm.pdf

8. Final Checklist Before Uploading

✔ Correct size (42 × 14 cm + bleed)
✔ 3 mm bleed on all sides
✔ 5 mm safe margin respected
✔ CMYK colour mode
✔ Fonts converted to outlines
✔ High-resolution images
